What God Had Promised
God had not promised skies always blue,
Flower strewn pathways all our lives through;
God had not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God had promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.
no ever-blue skies, no flower-strewn pathways, but.. in order to see the rainbow, u'll have to endure thru the storms =)
i saw the above passage a few years ago, and saw it again yesterday when Rev Koh preached abt it. i love this passage simply because it serves as a wonderful reminder no matter what stage of ur life u're in.
